Ian Wilding formed system minds in 2001, providing advisory services in proposition design, design management and user analysis, for a long list of leading financial firms in the UK and America.
In 2004 system minds expanded it’s service offering to provide full user interface analytics services that included, personas analysis; information architecture; interaction analysis, and user journey mapping. In parallel system minds launched it’s comprehensive design services, enabling them to move from proposition, through analysis and design and into development as efficiently as possible.
From 2004 onwards system minds offering was simple. Their focus was on the 3 service pillars of Think, Create and Release. The proposition was simple, they could think of the very best propositions fully validated against end user needs; they could then design a presentation layer that was both relevant and engaging, and finally they could get the designs into build in the most efficient way possible. system minds was firm in its stance that they ‘don’t do build!’ working closely with internal and third party development teams to bring it’s design to life.
2008 has become a big year for system minds. In addition to having it’s most successful year in what have been turbulent market conditions, it became a strategic acquisition for the Global solutions group FusionExperience. As part of FusionExperience it now operates within one of the UK’s largest digital solution groups, offering full strategic, analysis, design, build, deployment and insight services. system minds will maintain its focus on the design and management of customer experiences and will leverage the skills and experience of the wider group to offer additional services as and when required by its clients.
2009 is set to be a great year! Again the market conditions seem set to challenge with increased focus on process efficiencies and generating greater ROI. With it’s skills and experience system minds seem set to combine its core and advisory services and complimentary toolsets to continue to add value across their clients digital activities.
